THE MOPCOSTLAB TOOLKIT

Cleaning quote calculator.
Price with a plan.

For cleaning business owners: build a quote from your own costs, test profit if the job takes longer, then prepare a client estimate. This tool does not estimate local market rates.

The starting values are an example. Use your own records, costs and judgment. All results are before tax.

Label only; amounts are not converted.
01

People and paid time

Count yourself, too. This simple model uses one average pay rate for the crew.

hrs

Use similar completed jobs. Include cleaning, setup and paid travel.

/ hr

Use actual pay rates. Include a cost for your own work.

%

Your payroll-related costs and benefits, as a share of pay.

02

Costs beyond the crew

Use receipts and a consistent share of monthly operating costs.

The supplies you expect this visit to use.

Fuel, parking and other non-labor costs. Paid travel time is above.

Insurance, equipment, admin and other allocated operating costs.

%

Profit as a share of the price. Choose your own target.

Help me allocate overhead Optional

Spread monthly overhead across paid job person-hours. Use the same time basis as this quote, including paid travel and setup. Exclude costs already entered elsewhere.

hrs
Allocated to this job —

Monthly costs ÷ monthly job person-hours × this job’s person-hours. These helper values are an illustration.

Payment processing fees Optional
%

This estimate assumes one payment.

02

BEFORE YOU COMMIT TO THE PRICE

What if it takes longer?

Choose the actual price you intend to quote. Then add time without changing that price.

Starts with your target quote. Enter a different fixed price to see its margin.

30 minutes
On time+2 hours each

Every worker stays this much longer at the same pay rate. All other entered costs and the client price stay fixed.

Extra time before profit reaches zero

—
—On time—
—With extra time—
Additional labor cost—

Your price stays fixed while labor costs increase.

PUT THE SCOPE IN WRITING

From your numbers.
To their estimate.

Create a clear draft using the price you tested. Internal costs, wages and margins stay out of this document.

Client details stay in this page until you leave or reset it. They are not automatically saved or included in scenario links. Review the scope and any applicable taxes before sharing.

KEEP YOUR COST ASSUMPTIONS

Compare cost scenarios.

Up to three sets of costs and target margins.
Saved on this device; excludes client details and stress-test settings.

Save a cost calculation above, change an assumption, then save another to compare target quotes.

KEEP THE ASSUMPTIONS VISIBLE

A price is only as good
as its inputs.

Use your own completed jobs to estimate paid time. Count your labor even when you work alone. Spread overhead using a consistent basis, and review actual hours after the work is done.

Target quote = (job costs + fixed fee)
÷ (1 − margin − percentage fee)

The time test holds your chosen price fixed. It adds labor costs, then shows the remaining profit. It assumes a constant hourly rate, unchanged crew size and unchanged non-labor costs.

Read the formulas and assumptions

A few useful distinctions.

Is this a recommended local cleaning rate?+

No. The default inputs are illustrative. A target quote is a calculation from the costs and margin you enter; it does not establish local demand or guarantee that a client will accept the price.

Does half an hour extra mean half an hour per cleaner?+

Yes. If a two-person crew stays half an hour longer, it adds one person-hour of labor. The client price remains fixed during the time test.

What if workers earn different rates?+

Use a person-hour-weighted average rate for the work in this simple model. If workers spend different amounts of time on the job, calculate total paid person-hours first, then use the equivalent average hours per person.

What is the difference between CSV and the client estimate?+

The CSV and ordinary page printout contain internal calculation details. The client estimate includes the selected price, service, scope and client-facing notes. Review the client estimate before sharing it.

Does the price include tax or extra charges?+

No. The calculator is before tax and includes only the costs entered. The time test holds non-labor costs fixed and does not model overtime premiums. Apply any taxes, premiums and scope changes that affect your actual job separately.
